Dry scalp is a common problem. Dry scalp occurs when the oil or sebum secreted at the base of hair is not enough lubricated. The hair’s shine and luster is due to the sebum. Insufficient sebum can cause hair to dry out and cause the scalp to become dry.

Hair Care

Hair can be stripped of its natural oils by frequent shampooing, using curling irons and blow dryers, as well as harsh dyes, perm and styling gels, pollution, poor diet, allergies, sunburns to the scalp, and dry winter weather. Itching, flakiness, and dry scalp are all common symptoms.

However, it is often believed that dry scalp and dandruff are the same thing. This is false. Even if your scalp is oily, dandruff can occur. Normal skin cell turnover occurs. The scalp becomes dry if this happens at a higher rate than normal.

Dry Hair

Dry hair results in dry scalp, which eventually leads to dry hair. Dry hair can lead to hair falling and hair thinning. Dry scalp can be prevented by using conditioners after shampooing, using a broad-brimmed hat, or an umbrella while out in the sun. Regularly oiling the scalp and moisturizing it are all ways to combat this problem. Massaging stimulates oil glands and improves blood circulation.
