    Women’s T20 World Cup Semifinals 2024

India’s hopes of making the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals 2024 were dealt an enormous blow after Harmanpreet Kaur’s side suffered a 9 run loss against Australia on Sunday in a crucial Group-A match in Sharjah. Australia completely outplayed India, and Harmanpreet Kaur’s half century could not win the match for India. Australia qualified for semifinals after scoring 8 points in 4 matches, but India’s fate is still up in the air. India have 4 out of 4 matches. Their losses came against Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand has 4 points while Pakistan has 2.

India can still qualify if Pakistan beats New Zealand in Monday’s final Group A match. Pakistan will have 4 point along with India, New Zealand and Pakistan if they win. Harmanpreet Kaur’s team will qualify for knockout stage due to a higher Net run rate (NRR).

India lost their last group game to Australia by nine run to find themselves in an awkward position to qualify to the semifinals at the women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday.

India, chasing 152 to win the match, ended up at 142-9 with Harmanpreet Kaur scoring 54 runs off 47 balls. Deepti sharma and Shafali verma contributed with 29 and 20, respectively.

India ended its Group A campaign with four wins and two defeats.

Australia, which won all four games in the group, qualified for the semi-finals, while New Zealand (4 point) needs to beat Pakistan on Monday to reach the last-four stage.

Grace Harris, who scored 40 points off 41 balls, was the top scorer for Australia. Tahlia McCrath, who was standing in for the captain, and Ellyse Perri each scored 32.
